UC Berkeley’s Annual Chinese Martial Arts Tournament (CMAT) is entirely student-run and depends on having a large staff of volunteers to run efficiently. Volunteers will perform jobs ranging from scoring and timing on the competition floor to competitor check-in and security. We are always in need of more people and will be running volunteers starting at 4pm on Friday for setup, and all day in four-hour shifts on Saturday.

Whether you’re new to wushu and hoping to see some of the best martial artists in the nation up-close, or if you’re an experienced athlete lending a hand, volunteering has many perks! FIRSTLY, VOLUNTEERS GET IN FOR FREE! After your shift, you are welcome to stay and watch the competition! If you help for a full shift you’ll be rewarded with a CMAT t-shirt and a letter of service (if you need one). Free food and drinks will be provided throughout the day.

If you’re interested in being a part of the biggest tournament of its kind in the nation, please fill out the form above and we’ll get back to you with more information about when you’re needed and what to expect on the day of.
